She Writes Blog Hop

I just joined a wonderful site called She Writes, and I'm participating in the Books and Writing Group Blogger Ball. The Ball is hosted by Meg Waite Clayton of 1st Books, so thanks to Meg! I'm really excited to have this opportunity to meet some fellow writers and bloggers. Hello and welcome to anyone who comes by here!

Meg suggested we include a blogging tip as part of this welcome post. I am so new to blogging that I don't think I am qualified to give any tips, but just in my limited experience, I have seen the importance of blogging consistently. Setting up a blogging calendar with a goal of at least three posts a week has been very useful for me, as the consistency has helped me feel much more comfortable in this medium.

Here's a link back to Meg's blog post, with others participating in the hop.

Thanks for visiting, and I look forward to meeting new writer friends!

  5. Hi Julie,

It's just great that you are getting so involved in the community. I agree with sticking to blogging goals and am trying to blog a certain number of times a week myself. Right now I think I am at once a week, lol, but at least it's a start. It has helped me become consistent and my entries are getting easier to write.

    Keep up the wonderful exploration!

  7. Hopper here! I agree, consistency is important. And it doesn't matter so much the schedule, as long as you HAVE a schedule. I post every day, but obviously not everyone can do that. It is disappointing though to start following a blog you really like only to realize they're very inconsistent about posting. I think you lose followers that way.

  18. Hasn't this blog intro been amazing for meeting great new writers! Thank you so much for your lovely comment on my blog - and good luck with the writing. I'll pop back and see how you're getting on...

PS. How funny, just come back to tell you my word verification, aptly for an animal-loving blog, was me-moose!

  19. Great tip! I think a blog schedule has been the one thing that has kept me blogging on a regular basis (no more wailing, "but what am I going to write about today" and then not posting for six months, lol). I was guilty of that with my personal blog, and refuse to let it happen to my "official" blog.

  22. Great tip Julie! I usually try to keep a schedule but then I get burnt out and don't blog for a few weeks. I usually go overboard though and try to blog every day. I think three times a week will be more reasonable.

  23. Hi Julie!
I'm still blog hopping on our 4th day...having the most enjoyable time. I understand the tie-in with animal rescue...we rescued a puppymill American Cocker mommy about 3 years ago, who's now going on 8. She had never seen a vet, or a toy, and had no clue what grass was. Glad to dance across your blog :~)

By the way, thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your comments. For some reason they went straight to my spam box! Its a good thing I always check my spam folder (There's another blogging tip for you) for misplaced comments. :)
Glad you like my post on Leeds Castle. I'm continuing my England trip posts this month and I'm glad you're enjoying it so far. Its' always great to have a fellow history buff as an online friend. :D
