Party Time At Coming Down the Mountain

Karen at Coming Down the Mountain is hosting her Second Annual Labor Day Blog BBQ, and the fun starts today!

It couldn't be easier to participate, as all you have to do is share what you are bringing to the BBQ, and hang out with Karen and all the other partiers.

Since I'm a terrible cook, I'm bringing my favorite snack, tortilla chips and salsa, and also sharing my favorite summer drink, the Mojito.

Apparently the Mojito is the official drink of Miami, but all I know is that it's a perfect drink for a hot summer day.

Mojitos are made with Rum, lime, club soda, sugar, and mint. There's also a non-alcoholic version, which uses sugar syrup in place of the Rum, and it's equally yummy.

So, I'm sharing Mojitos and snacks with everyone this weekend, and looking forward to meeting new and old friends at the BBQ. Thanks to Karen for being such a great host!

To all my American friends, Happy Labor Day weekend, and to everyone outside of the US, I hope you have a fabulous weekend as well! :)

  1. I love Mojitos. Had one for the first time last summer not in Miami but in Ireland.

  3. Hi Julie .. I'll add some stuffed mushrooms into the mix .. I'm sure you won't mind if I bring some over from Karen's .. mushrooms and herby cheese, or pate ..

They'd be good with your tortilla chips (I think we call them crisps!) and salsa dip ..

The Mojito sounds good .. just can't stand rum .. I'll have some vino .. and cool mojito sans the rum ..

Love your ideas .. cheers Hilary

PS I'd better write mine up!

  7. Hi Julie, stopping by from Karen's BBQ!

PS. I agree, Eric Northman is hot(though I like him better when he's also kind of a psycho, rather than all sweet and gentle), but Alcide makes the woowoo-hairs on the back of my neck shiver. The woowoo-hairs love Alcide.

  25. Hello from a fellow campaigner in the thriller/suspense group. BBQ... my favorite summer pastime. And Mojitos sounds like a really good addition to that... as long as you don't have to drive anywhere afterward.

  26. @Doralynn, hi, great to meet you! I'm glad to meet another thriller/suspense writer, that is what I am working on right now with my WIP. Yeah, I definitely need to step away from the Mojitos if I'm driving, no question. Thanks for coming by!
