It's Friday and time to Celebrate the Small Things with Vikki at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author.
This week I'm celebrating that:
- I finished editing and revising my third (possibly final?) draft of The Ghosts of Aquinnah, my 2012 NaNoWriMo novel. My goal is to have it polished and ready for submission in June.
- I am now part of a totally awesome group of writers called Untethered Realms. I was invited to join by my friend M. Pax and quickly accepted by the other members, most of whom I already knew and considered friends. It's kind of funny for me to be so happy about being part of a group because I've never been a "joiner" and have always been more apt to go it alone. But that is yet another way that writing and blogging has changed me. Thanks to the the blogosphere I already knew the benefits of being part of a supportive and fun community of people with similar interests and goals, and now I'm thrilled to be able to extend that experience to a smaller and more focused group.
- My sisters, brothers-in-law, and I are going to a Cincinnati Reds game with my mom this Sunday for Mother's Day. I've mentioned before on this blog that my mom is a huge Reds and baseball fan, so it's always fun to watch a game with her. But since losing my dad last summer I am even more cognizant of how lucky I am to still have my mom, so I'm grateful for the chance for us to do something fun for Mother's Day. To me, that's definitely something worth celebrating.
Happy Friday and weekend to all! :)
