Spoiled Pets and Cincinnati Tails

I just had to share this picture of my dog Clancy and my cat Nate making themselves comfortable while making a mess of my couch. They would no doubt say "what do you mean, your couch?" if they could read. They have claimed the couch as their own and I'm fairly sure this is how they spend most of their days while I am at work. I can't deny that they are spoiled rotten.

Cincinnati Tails

But the main thing I wanted to share today is that I have started up a new blog devoted to animals rescues and other animal-related issues. It's brand new and still a work in progress, but if you're interested in checking it out this is the link:

Cincinnati Tails

I love writing about rescue organizations and showcasing animals who are waiting for new homes, so I'm excited to have this new opportunity. Please wish me luck! :)

  1. That's a really cool idea, Julie.
    And I think your cat has melted into the couch.

  2. Ha! I KNOW that's where my dog is when I'm out!

  3. Neat idea!

    Our dog is a rescue pet, and she's the best dog ever. She's recently taken to sleeping on our couch some nights. And I let her...as if I could stop her. LOL ;)

  4. Finding Nate was like "Where's Waldo"! LOL!

    And that's a fantastic idea about the new blog! :D

  5. Clancy and Nate do live the good life. :)

    And cool about the new site!

  6. Clancy looks so guilty, and Nate could care less, typical, right? My dog Patches is always on the couch, and when 'people' take up all the room on it. She pouts. But we did spoil her, we had two couches at one time and she had one all to herself. Anytime she wants something from me, she jumps up into my chair, especially after I get up and walk away. She is the boss!
    Good luck with the new site - great idea!

  7. Every pet we've ever had has been spoiled rotten, but if you're not gonna love 'em and spoil 'em, why have them?

    Good luck with your new site. Sounds like a great idea!

  10. Babies!! I will be by to check out this blog-- a cause near n' dear to my own heart too. We adopted our Weimie when he was five years old. As we handed the check to the rescue organization, the coordinator told us, "I hope it sticks this time. It's our third try to get him adopted." I questioned my sanity after that comment but have never looked back. He can be a handful, but I love that little gray nose.

  13. What a noble effort! I'll have to check it out.

    I have a house full of spoiled pets. Too many actually, but I have a hard time saying no. I almost brought a stray cat home from the beach!

    @Melissa, clearly I can't stop mine either LOL. Thanks so much!

    @Cherie, LOL LOL, he is kind of hidden. Thanks so much!

    @LG, they do! Thanks!

    @Yolanda, yeah, I don't think cats understand the meaning of the word guilty. Patches sounds so cute! :)

    @Michael, I hope so, thanks!

    @Susan, that's my philosophy for sure. Thank you!

    @Carol, he definitely owns that spot LOL. Thanks!

    @Hilary, aren't they? They really have the life. :D Thanks!

    @Julie, aww, I'm so glad your Weimie found a permanent home with you. I feel so sorry for animals when they keep getting passed around like that. I bet he is a doll!

    @Johanna, I always try to tell mine how fortunate they are but they don't buy it LOL. Thanks!

    @Sheena, thanks!

    @Elizabeth, oh gosh, I know how hard it is to say no. I'd love to take them all if I could. Thanks for checking the blog out.

  15. Aw how cute are they! My dogs are like that with food. They assume all of it belongs to them...

    I plan to eventually rescue a cat or dog once I get my own place. I could definitely use the company and they could use a home :)

  16. That is definitely a great way to give attention to animals in need. My dogs are pretty spoiled rotten too. I just figure that they take good care of me, so I might as well spoil them, just to say thank you.

  17. Fur peeps are the best. My two boys believe they own every pillow in the house.

  22. Of course they own the couch...and the rest of the house. You're just lucky they let you stay around, but I guess they do need someone with an opposable thumb to open the food for them :D

    Best of luck with your new blog, as well!

  23. Oh lord, I don't dare look. I'll want to bring them all home to the ranch. A messy divorce will ensue (just kidding about the divorce). Hubs has threatened dire consequences if I (or our son) even think about another animal crossing the ranch boundaries with ideas of living here. lol!

    I have helped with developing our shelter here. The prior arrangements for the area involved a gun, a shovel, and a shallow grave. Progress has been made.

  24. @Tyrean, thank you!

    @Mark, LOL, that is about how it goes. Thanks so much.

    @Sia, aww, I can imagine it's hard to keep from bringing home all the animals to the ranch. How wonderful that you've helped with a new shelter there.

  26. The cat obviously doesn't care, but the doggy has a defensive look! Ha. Best of luck, blogging about a worthy cause.

  27. Clancy looks slightly guilty. And your cat looks verrry comfortable.

    My cats are probably more spoiled than your pets.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Best of luck, of course. But I wish you had included the "Join this site" button (that you have on this blog).

  29. @Jan, LOL, yeah, Nate couldn't have cared less. Thanks!

    @Mary, I don't know if that's possible LOL but I don't doubt your kitties are spoiled. :D

    @LD, oh, I forgot about it! I will have to figure out how to add that again. Thanks!

  32. Aw, your pets are adorable! I have a dog who will totally own the furniture, too. (She gets peeved if you dare to sit on "her" ottoman. XD)

    Off to check out the new blog! :)

  33. @Gwen, thank you!

    @Madeline, oh, I'm glad the Larrys approve! I will try to find a turtle rescue around here to spotlight in their honor. :) Thanks!

    @Heather, LOL, that's just how my dog acts about the couch cushion he sees as his and his alone.

  34. Lovely idea, Julie. I've liked the facebook page and am heading over to the blog now :)

  35. Sounds like a great cause, Julie. Gonna check this out.

  36. I think Clancy is giving you that - do not disturb me look -- in the picture. And how great you are starting a new blog. How will you find the time, working, writing and everything else. I'm retired and can barely keep up with one. I will go there right now and become a follower. Those issues are close to my heart.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Inger, that is Clancy's favorite look LOL. I hope I will have enough time to keep both blogs up, I just love writing about the rescues. Thanks!

  38. Definitely good luck to you, Julie! I think that's a great idea for a blog, and you're the one to write it.

  39. Absolutely wonderful, Julie--You will get a lot of joy (as well as some heartbreak, I know) out of this new endeavor of yours...I'll be sure to follow you on that new blog.

    As for your own "spoiled brats," there is no other way. As we all know, that couch is theirs.

    Again, best of luck!

  40. @Shannon, thanks!

    @Inge, thanks so much! And I agree about the brats LOL. :)

  41. That's wonderful, Julie! Our animals need voices like yours.

  42. Julie, I fully support you on this!

    What a wonderful idea!!!!!! Our furry friends need a voice to protect and help them!

    I had always said if I every make zillions of dollars with my writing I would sponsor lots of facilities to help and give homes to abused and abandoned animals.

    ALL THE BEST! I'm heading over to your new site.

  43. @Lee, thank you!

    @Michael, I'd love to do the same! If only. Thanks so much.
