IWSG & Wickedly They Dream Release Day!

It's hard to believe it's already November and time for another meeting of the Insecure Writer's Support Group, hosted by Alex J. Cavanaugh. To see the list of group members as well as this month's co-hosts, visit Alex's site here

I really don't have much to write about this month as I am still simply feeling insecure about blogging and writing and life in general. In addition to my mom's cancer, I've had some other personal stressors pop up and I'm having a terrible time focusing on anything writing related. It's safe to say 2014 has not been my year! But I have to force myself to focus this month as I'm working with my editor to get my Polar Night sequel Polar Day ready for a February, 2015 release date. Even though it's a lot of work, it's actually great for me to have this editing as a distraction, especially as I'm super excited for the release.

For today though I'm turning the blog over to my friend Cathrina Constantine and her book Wickedly They Dream, which is officially released today!! Yay, Cathrina!!

To add to the fun, Wickedly They Dream is on sale for 99 cents. That's a steal for one of Cathy's books so I would encourage everyone to get a copy ASAP. Here is all the info on the book and the giveaway Cathrina is holding to celebrate the release.

  9. Congrats Catrina on the book and being recognized here and on other places too. Julie, they say things happen in 3's but I think things happen in 7's and 8's! There are years I wish would not have happened but they did. Maybe it made me stronger but sometimes I feel that I am already strong enough so give a bad year to someone else. When you have a tough year, whether it be family, health, job etc... friends help, the ones you can physically touch and the ones in blogger land etc... If you have a day where you just cried, don't feel bad, It is OK to be distressed once in a while. Sometimes creativity helps tremendously and other times, watching the boob tube or going for a walk is what is needed. You will get through this year and you have support...always

  21. Hi Julie,

All the very best to Cathrina. I shall duly share this post.

Life, your concerns, the stresses in your personal life, your beloved mother, can all add up to a feeling of being helpless, of being insecure. My dear friend, from this you will challenge the adversity and the inspiration shall flow.

    Take care and here's a virtual hug (( ))

  22. I'm sorry that this year has been so unkind to you. >_< But having a book published is a good way to start 2015, so hopefully things will pick up from there.

  25. Hi Julie - settling with numerous issues going on around you, especially for your mother and your self, is not at all easy ... it's just taking each day as it comes ... without stressing too much, as time will pass ... and you will have done your best for your mother, helped yourself as far as possible within the mix ... but having Polar Night as a distraction seems a good way of just gently moving along. I found blogging helped me through ..

    With many thoughts - Hilary

  35. Congrats to Cathrina! I'm sorry things have been so stressful for you. Writing will always be there. It's good to take a break now and then. It's exciting that the release of your next book isn't far off. :)

  36. I am so sorry to hear about your mom and that it has been a bad 2014 for you as well. I so understand how difficult it is to find one's creative spirit when life is so full of stress. I stop by here every now and then and if you are promoting other authors, unknown to me, I don't comment. From what I have seen, you are caring about your fellow authors, promoting their books, even though you may not feel all that great yourself.

  37. Congrats to Cathrina! And hugs to you, Julie. Here's hoping 2015 is a fantastic year for all of us.

  41. I'm sorry 2014 hasn't been good for you. It hasn't been good for me either, but at least no one I know including myself has gotten sick. My thoughts are with you. I hope that the cancer goes into remission and that your 2015 burns bright.
