Cling to God by Lynda R. Young and NaNoWriMo

I decided to sign up for NaNoWriMo this year in the hopes of finally ending my seemingly endless writing slump. The last time I did NaNo I wrote the story that became The Ghosts of Aquinnah, so I'm hoping I will have the same success this time.

I'm writing a historical mystery that I've been kicking around in my head for years, but got new inspiration for after my trip to Paris over the summer. It takes place in both Cincinnati and France during the World War I era, and it's called A Window Box in Paris. One of the things I loved most about Paris were the beautiful flowers in window boxes all over the city, like this one:

The buildings were already so gorgeous, and these boxes added even more to the city's already considerable charm. So I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that when the end of November rolls around I will have typed "the end" on the first draft of this story!

Anyone else taking part in the NaNo craziness this year? If so, let's cheer each other on. :)

The big news today though is the release of Cling to God by Lynda R. Young. Congratulations, Lynda! I'm happy to have the opportunity to help spread the word about this release. Here is all the info:

    1. Thank you! I know November is kind of a bad month for this, but it worked out for me this year because I have some time off around Thanksgiving. So fingers crossed. :)

Good luck with NaNo! If I finish writing my current project by the end of the month, then I plan to participate this year. We'll see how it goes.

  6. Good luck with the new idea and NANO. I don't do it but I do wish success for those participants who enjoy the challenge. I loved the windowboxes in Paris too. Geraniums are a favourite with Parisians and have always been a personal favourite of mine due to their hardiness.

  9. I'm doing NaNo this year. I can't imagine not doing it at this point - 1/2 my social group I meet through write-ins last year XD

I love the title of your piece and wholeheartedly agree with your love of window boxs. Chicago doesn't have a lot of green spaces downtown, but I see planters and little window boxes frequently and it makes me happy.

    1. Oh, I've never noticed that when I've been in Chicago. I'll have to pay more attention next time.
      Good luck with Nano!

  10. I'm doing NaNo this year, but so far I've only got a general outline. So much to do before the first and so little time. :-)

  14. Yay for Lynda!!!!

NaNo... Wow. There are people out there who can produce something worthy of existing during the insanity? Here, have some cheese to help out. You're going to rock this year!

  15. Congratulations to Lynda.

I've been toying with NaNo this year... I'll dither for the rest of the month, I think, and then probably realise I'm too busy to participate. But it's the thought that counts, isn't it. Good luck. I'm waiting for your next book :-)
