Night Owl's Spring Fling Scavenger Hunt and Friday Celebrations

Win Books and Prizes in the Night Owl Reviews Spring Fling Web Hunt

I'm really excited to be participating in the Spring Fling Scavenger Hunt at Night Owl Reviews starting on April 1.

I'm one of the Scavenger Hunt sponsors and am offering an ebook bundle prize basket in collaboration with my publishing Ink Smith Publishing. In addition to my books Polar Night and The Ghosts of Aquinnah, the winner of my basket will receive the entire 2013 Ink Smith catalog in ebook format. I'm really grateful to my publisher for taking part in this with me and I'm excited to have the chance to help spread the word about the other Ink Smith authors and their wonderful books.

To win, entrants need to go on a hunt to fill in missing words from the book blurbs in the contest. It's a fun way to learn about lots of new books! To learn more and sign up to play, visit the Night Owl Reviews site here.

This week has gone so quickly that I can't believe it's Friday and time to Celebrate the Small Things again. If you'd like to join the hop, visit Vikki at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author here.

Today I'm celebrating that I finished writing my posts for the A to Z in April Challenge! I know I still have to go back in and proofread them, but it's a great feeling to have the bulk of the work done.

I'm also celebrating what a great time I had co-hosting this month's Insecure Writers' Support Group meeting. It was fun to meet lots of bloggers who were new to me and I am also very grateful for all the advice and support I received about my public speaking anxiety! If I ever need a reminder of how supportive and encouraging this group is all I need to do is look at the comments on that post. Thanks so much to everyone who commented and a special thanks to Liz Blocker, who took the time to e-mail me some public speaking tips she learned while studying acting at Emerson College. If you don't already know Liz, check out her blog here. She totally rocks.

Happy weekend, all!

  1. It's great to have those Challenge posts out of the way, isn't it?

  2. What a busy bee you are. But it all helps to keep writing, gain new ideas and friends.
Good to know you haven't been buried by all that snow - just with projects. A good reason to CELEBRATE.

  3. I am so jealous that you got all your A-Z posts done! I've been procrastinating all over the place.

Maybe when you do your public speaking gigs, you should think of all of us sitting in the audience instead, cheering you on. :)

  5. @Alex, I loved co-hosting, it's always such a great experience.

@Inge, yeah, I'd much rather be buried in the projects LOL.

@Madeline, oh, that's a great idea! I will try that. You guys are some of my favorite people in the world. :)

  6. I'm up to Q in the challenge. Still way ahead of last year which I posted on a nightly basis. Julie, I have confidence that you'll be a great speaker. Just remember to talk slow and think before your tongue wags. (My big problem)

  12. Good luck with the scavenger hunt - sounds cool! You finished your A-Z already? Gah! I'm desperately trying to finish my WIP this month and I don't think I'll even get to the A-Z posts. Waaaaaaa!!!

  13. @Julie, it is fun, I love it. And that's my hope with A-Z, I'd love to meet some new bloggers.

@Lexa, I'm thrilled to be done with my posts but my WIP has suffered as a result. I just needed to put it away and work on something else. Now I'll be desperate with you LOL.

  15. Wow! All your A-Z posts done already? I never pre-write them, just throw them up each day. I'm just not that organized.

  17. @Laura, good luck with your research and the posts!

@Kate, it's totally out of character for me to be this organized, I don't know what got into me LOL.

  18. Congratulations on getting your A-Z posts done already. That's the way I did it, too, the only year I participated. I can't imagine how anyone can find time to do them on a one-day-at-a-time basis throughout the month of April. Too much pressure!

The scavenger hunt sounds like a blast, and it almost tempts me to reconsider my plans to take a break from blogging in April so I can get some much-needed writing done. Almost. But not quite.

    Happy weekend!
