K is for Kermit

I loved the Muppets when I was a kid, and my favorite Muppet was Kermit the Frog. I still love him.

The Muppet Show was must-see tv as far as I was concerned. To me what was great about the Muppet Show was that even though it was for kids, they had great guest stars like Debbie Harry, Diana Ross, Steve Martin, Johnny Cash, Gladys Knight, Elton John, Paul Simon, and so many other legendary entertainers. Besides Kermit, I loved Fozzie Bear, Rowlf the piano playing dog, Animal the drummer, Gonzo, and the Swedish Chef. I also loved the old guys who sat in the balcony and jeered the performances.

I remember being beyond excited when The Muppet Movie came out, and I couldn't wait to go to the theater to see it. I wasn't disappointed. After seeing the movie, I thought this was easily the most beautiful song ever recorded.

I wouldn't go quite that far now. ;) But the clip still makes me smile, and I find myself singing along when I watch. It's hard to beat a singing frog sitting on a log and playing a banjo.

You can't go wrong with Kermit the Frog.

  1. Kermit was good but Fozzie Bear was better. He was definitely my favourite Muppet... oh yes, and I loved Rolf too but he never really had a speaking part and Fozzie used to make me laugh.

  4. Brilliant post for K. Kermit still manages to bring a smile to my face. My wife and I are really happy that our kids love Kermit and the rest of the Muppets. We went to Disneyland a couple years ago, and one of our favorite things was the Muppet Show.

  10. Love the Muppets and Kermit the Frog. One of my friends sent me a link to a blog where a guy made a miniature Muppet show set. It was totally cool.

Kermit, the Muppet Show and The Muppet Movie are favorites of mine, too. Gotta love "Gone with the Schwinn". ;) I also remember getting the Muppet Movie soundtrack after one of my surgeries. Definitely made a tough time better. Thanks for a great post!

Kermit is definitely a Klassic :=)

Wondering if you were able to look at what I did for "G," since it's my Ginger's rescue story. Figured you'd probably enjoy it more than anybody...if you can find the time in the midst of our A to Z, that is. lol
