I can't believe it's already time to sign up for another A to Z April Challenge, but April really is right around the corner and the 2013 sign-up list is officially open as of today. If you'd like to sign up, just click on the badge above for all the info you need.
This will be my third A-Z Challenge, and I can't recommend it highly enough. If I hadn't stumbled upon a link to it back in March of 2011, I highly doubt that I would still be blogging today. Participating in the challenge jump-started my blog and helped me feel like I had some sort of place here in this huge blogosphere. I met so many wonderful bloggers, many of whom I still keep in touch with today, and realized how much fun blogging can be.
So if there is anyone reading this who is interested in the challenge but on the fence about whether or not to participate, I say go for it! I promise you won't regret it. :)
Also, it's Wednesday and time for another round of WWW Wednesdays, hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.
To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I just started reading Reaper's Novice by Cecilia Robert, who can be found at Cecilia Robert's Written Word. I haven't gotten far enough in the book yet to write about it, but I know Cecilia is a great writer so I've no doubt the book will be great as well.
What did you recently finish reading?
Witch's Nocturne by E.J. Wesley, who blogs at The Open Vein. E.J.'s Moonsongs series is excellent and the stories are fun and quick reads.
Weighted by Ciara Knight. An amazing prequel to Ciara's upcoming series The Neumarian Chronicles.
What do you think you'll read next?
I don't have an Amazon link for this book, and I won't be able to read it until it is published on February 14, but I will be really excited to be able to read Scream If You Wanna Go Faster by Wade Beauchamp. Wade is a fellow Ink Smith Publishing author, and we have been cheering each other on since we both signed our contracts. Visit the book's Facebook page to learn more about it.
That's it for me today. Have you read any great books recently? Are you planning to participate in the A to Z Challenge?
Hope everyone is having a good week! :)
I'll definitely be participating in the A-Z Challenge again. I'm all signed up.
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading The Watcher by Lisa Voisin. It doesn't come out until March, but it's really good. And before that, I read Shades of Earth by Beth Revis. It was awesome!
Scream if you wanna go faster... That's such a tantalizing title!
ReplyDeleteThis will be my third year with A to Z as well. It's addictive. :)
I've signed up for A-Z. It'll be my second time. After last year I did say never again, because it took me ages to not feel jetlagged by it all - but I know what I'm letting myself in for this time!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out! Only 27 days until Escapement will be released. I'm so excited. More on my blog Friday. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out, Julie. :) I just signed up for the challenge, so I'm looking forward to that.
ReplyDeleteCurrently I am reading Stephanie Keyes The Star Child. I haven't gone so far in the book, but so far it's a great story.
Happy Wednesday, Julie! :)
I'm not doing the A to Z this year. I just don't have the time. I gotta get my novel done. But you know I'll be checking in to see what theme you've come up with.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm going to read EJ's first release, Blood Fugue, this weekend. Looks like a fun read. :)
@Cherie, glad you are participating again. I'll have to check out those books.
ReplyDelete@Laura, I agree, I think that's a great title too! And I'm glad you are in for another round of the challenge.
@Annalisa, LOL, I said never again as well but I here I am signing up on the first day.
@Ciara, you're welcome, looking forward to Escapement!
@Cecilia, my pleasure. And I'm glad you decided to sign up again!
@LG, I can understand why you want to focus on your novel instead, but I'll miss your A to Z posts! And I think you will love EJ's main character Jenny, she's a badass woman. :D
Let's hear it for another Challenge!!
ReplyDeleteSome good authors you've selected there.
I'll definitely be participating in A to Z when it rolls around. I was the 300th person to sign up!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read your book. Just a few more days until I can get my hands on it.
I need to write a review of Witch's Nocturne. I've been so busy during the day and tired when I get home. It's just been a hard week.
@Alex, I can't wait for April. :)
ReplyDelete@Michael, oh, thank you, I hope you will like my book! I'm glad you will be doing the A to Z too, I can't believe how many people have already signed up. Hope the rest of the week is better for you.
I signed up for my second A-Z Challenge! No theme in sight but working on it...
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all the book stuff over at GoodReads. I've read six books so far and have many, many more I want to read.
@Madeline, so glad you are on board again for the challenge. And I totally agree, I love Goodreads! Such a fun site. :)
ReplyDeleteReaper's Novice sounds interesting, and I've read the other two and agree - excellent choices!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Reached by Ally Condie, The Problem of Pain by C.S. Lewis, and a few other titles all at the same time. I have to wrestle Reached out of my kids hands to read it.
Thanks for the shout, Julie! One week until Polar Night comes out. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI was on the fence about AtoZ, but decided to go for it. I believe I met you during the first one I did two years ago. So, see, it was worth it. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm rereading Sense & Sensibility, Hannah's Dream. White Noise, and Slipstream.
I don't know if I'll participate in the A-to-Z... ;-p
ReplyDeleteThose books sound good, and EJ's was definitely a good read! I'm about to start Kim Harrison's newest, hopefully tonight.
Shannon at The Warrior Muse
Good luck with AtoZ. :)
ReplyDelete@Tyrean, oh, I haven't heard of Reached, you have me curious now.
ReplyDelete@Wade, you're welcome! And I can't believe it's only a week!
@Mary, you did meet me two years ago, isn't that hard to believe? I'm glad you are participating again.
@Shannon, LOL, I have a feeling you will be part of it. :D
@Melissa, thanks!
Ciara's cover is the best.
ReplyDeleteI can't handle the A to Z. I can barely keep up now! LOL. But good luck. I'm reading a book by a fellow writer that hasn't been published yet. I just read The Central Park Five by Sarah Burns which was incredible and next I am not sure--probably The Bookseller by Mark Pryor.
ReplyDeleteI occasionally participate in the WWW Wednesday. I love it.
ReplyDeleteWe have similar tastes in books.I've also singed up for A to Z. :)
@Tonja, it's a great cover, I agree.
ReplyDelete@Lisa, I saw your review of the Central Park Five on Goodreads, sounded like a really interesting book.
@Brinda, glad you are also doing the A to Z!
Three challenges already, uh? I veteran already in such ventures. :) I'll be reading you a lot, Julie.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Al! I will be reading you a lot too. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad I found your post with WWW Wednesday today. I'm a day late, but chimed in anyway. Such a neat idea! Looking forward to April. Glad you'll be participating in the Challenge too. See you tomorrow to Celebrate the Small Things :)
ReplyDelete@MJ, I'm glad to hear you are participating in the challenge too, that's great. See you tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie .. I'll be with you at the A - Z .. I don't think I'd have ever started blogging if a group of us hadn't started and I'm really the only one left doing it .. then I bumped across some others, and some more - and then some who were connected with the A - Z and the rest is history!! (probably quite true in my case ...)
ReplyDeleteCheers Hilary
This will also be my 3rd A to Z Challenge!
ReplyDeletei have eg's book & ciara's book on my tbr list, glad you enjoyed them!
ReplyDelete@Hilary, glad you are back on board for another challenge!
ReplyDelete@Michelle, oh, that's great, looking forward to your posts.
@Tara, I hope you enjoy them, I think you will.
I've seen others participate in the A-to-Z challenge before, and it always looks like a lot of fun! Don't know if I'll participate, since I have a bad habit of slacking off from blogging sometimes, but I just bookmarked the link to that site, just in case!
ReplyDeleteAnd wow, the cover for Reaper's Novice looks so pretty! Hopefully the story inside is just as great!
@Heather, I agree, that cover is awesome. Hope you decide to do the A-Z, it really is fun. :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome aboard!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks DL! :)
