Today is National Mutt Day and I feel I would be remiss if I didn't share a picture of the greatest mutt in the world, my Clancy.
National Mutt Day was created in 2005 by animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige in order to celebrate mixed-breed dogs. Mixed-breed dogs are the most likely to be euthanized in shelters, and there are literally millions of mutts in shelters all over the country waiting for homes. So if you're thinking of adding a dog to your family, consider a mutt!
Hugs and kisses to all the mutts out there from Clancy and me. :)

ReplyDelete@DG, I love lighthouses too. There's something so magical about them. Thank you!
ReplyDelete@Crystal, isn't it? I'm amazed how generous people have been! Thanks!
Aw, can I take a mutt with me on my Dream Destination? Now I just have to narrow down my choices and figure out where that's going to be. :)
ReplyDeleteMutts are the BEST. The trouble with going to the shelter, though, is I always want to bring them ALL home.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your first bloghop is gonna be a big hit... just like your upcoming book!
I have a mutt, too! I've always had mutts, they are the best dogs! I'm going to give him an extra treat to celebrate as I eat my fritter for National Fritter Day.
ReplyDelete@LG, Clancy would volunteer to go with you! He loves traveling.
ReplyDelete@Susan, I know, I am the same way. I wish I could take them all. I hope you're right about the hop and the book, thanks!!
@Jenn, I hope you enjoy your fritter and your doggie enjoys his treat. :)
Woo hoo for Ghosts! You should write that as a dance song - woo hoo for Ghosts. :D OK, obviously I had too much chocolate with lunch. Is that possible?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward a mental vacation. :D
I'm happy to have you on my blog today, Julie, and I enjoyed reading The Ghosts of Aquinnah! Now I need to bump Polar Night on my to-read list.
ReplyDeleteMy first dog was a mutt and boy what a great dog he was. I still miss him *sigh*
ReplyDeleteHi, Julie,
ReplyDeleteWOW … what a FUN HOP…. but THIS WEEK! EEEK!!!! I am just barely scratching the surface in catching up with everybody… LOL.
LOVE MUTT day…. dogs are just the best. My childhood pet was a mix of shepherd and lab… what a wonderful family member. He was my best friend from the time I was ten until he died when I was 21… I was heart broken. I'll never forget him...
I'm all signed up and ready to go! It's going to be a fantastic bloghop. :) And yay for mutts!
