Today's quote comes from one of my writing idols, Joss Whedon.
“I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters that I am not. I write to EXPLORE all the things I'm afraid of." ~ Joss Whedon
I love this quote but it also makes me laugh a little. I've always been such a chicken that if I explore all the things I'm afraid of it's safe to say that I will never run out of topics. :D
In all seriousness though I do relate to the quote and I'm grateful that writing has given me the outlet to do all of these things.
I hope everyone had a good weekend and has a great week ahead.
A lot of the time I write to explore all the people I am not. Good word for E :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the greenery in this picture! I am ready for spring to start blooming.
ReplyDeleteFantastic Whedon quote! Have a wonderful week. :)
ReplyDeleteWell then that's excellent - you will never run out of ideas! :D
ReplyDeleteLove Joss Whedon so much. What a legend!
I don't explore most of the things that scare me...
ReplyDeleteThose are all the reasons I write. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Joss and you both write because it makes the world a better place!
ReplyDeleteSo true! Love Joss
ReplyDeleteLove that quote! I can definitely relate to those reasons.
ReplyDeleteLove exploring! Especially to learn new things.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons I'm a discovery writer is because I love exploring my world with my characters. Great quote. (And man - Whedon is amazing.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quote and picture to go along with it. I tend to agree with that statement
ReplyDeleteExplore is a wonderful word for "e" and for writers. Good luck with the Challenge!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie - I'd love to explore with you and Clancy .. so exciting ... I do love looking at new things - and now I can walk more easily with the hip - life will be fun ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteGosh, I'd like to go exploring down that path in the photo. What a pretty walk. :)
